“Society’s problems start in childhood”: Irina Alewert discusses Global to Local’s work on Bun TV.

What are the goals of the “Social Justice at Schools” teacher conferences organised by Global to Local?  What results have been achieved over the years, and why was the Swedish approach of anti-bullying chosen? Irina Alewert, the founder and director of Global to Local, addressed these and other questions about the NGO’s work on Bun TV’s “Bun Talk: Education” program.

In the interview, she emphasised the organization’s holistic approach, focusing not only on the child but also on the classroom, school, individual support, and the role of the community.

“School is a small model of society; it’s where we must teach children what it means to respect one another. It seems simple, but achieving this and making it a way of life within society is a challenging task. Society’s issues come from our schools and childhood when adults fail to teach children that relationships are built on respect and care for one another,” said Irina Alewert.
