Communication and Visibility Policy
For Global to Local NGO (Short Version)
1. Purpose
This policy guides how Global to Local (G2L) communicates internally and externally, ensuring clarity, ethical standards, and visibility of its mission and programs.
2. Scope
Applies to all staff, volunteers, board members, and media contractors engaged in representing G2L through communication, media, or branding.
3. Objectives
- Promote transparency and accountability
- Enhance visibility of G2L’s work and impact
- Ensure consistent and ethical messaging
- Safeguard the dignity and rights of beneficiaries

- Donors and partners
- Beneficiaries and communities
- Government and public institutions
- Media and the general public
5. Core Principles
- Respect, accuracy, and inclusivity in all messages
- No use of stereotypes or sensationalism
- Consent must be obtained for photos, quotes, or testimonials
- Child and vulnerable adult protection is prioritized in all communication
6. Communication Channels
- G2L communicates through:
- Website: www.global-to-local.se
- Social media: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube
- Reports, newsletters, and events
- Press and media coverage
7. Roles and Responsibilities
- Media/Communications Lead: Oversees content creation and outreach
- Executive Director: Approves key messages and visibility strategy
- Program Staff: Collects stories, visuals, and field-level content responsibly
8. Media Engagement
- Only designated staff may represent G2L in media interviews
- All external communication should align with G2L’s values and mission
- Maintain a media contact list and press kit (including logo, factsheet, quotes)
9. Branding & Acknowledgment
- Use G2L’s logo and donor logos as per visual identity guidelines
- Acknowledge funding partners in program-related communication
- Co-branding with partners must be pre-approved
10. Annual Reporting
- An annual communication summary will include:
- Key outreach statistics (reach, engagement, media mentions)
- Success stories and campaign highlights
- Lessons learned from communications and visibility efforts
11. Data Privacy and Consent
- Written consent is required before using personal stories or identifiable images
- All data shared publicly must comply with privacy and protection standards
12. Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed every two years or following a major campaign or donor visibility requirement.
